About

Elimin8Hate (E8) is the advocacy arm of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival. We work to interrupt, dismantle and eliminate anti-Asian racism at the individual, institutional and systemic level by harnessing the power of arts, film and media. Beyond implementing our custom dictionary, here are other ways you or your organization can help:
1. Create a workspace that empowers staff to use their chosen names by:
a. Understanding how biases influence our day-to-day decisions
b. Restructuring hiring policies to actively eliminate them

2. Add phonetic pronunciations into email signatures, and encourage those with non-anglicized names to do the same

3. Fund campaigns like this one with a donation, and help us continue our fight against anti-Asian racism
